Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TripFinder - Local Guide ("TripFinder", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Mert Altekin in Turkiye, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the TripFinder mobile application and related services.
1. Information we collect
Account and sign-in information
- If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the Apple account identifier and, depending on your choices, your name and email address. Apple may provide a private relay email instead of your personal email address.
- If you use Google Sign-In, we receive the Google account identifier, verified email address, and basic profile information made available by Google.
- We create internal user, session, and entitlement identifiers to keep your plans, credits, and purchases connected to your account.
Location information
With your permission, TripFinder may access foreground device location, including precise location when you allow it. We use it to center maps, find nearby places, select a planning area, and generate local or travel plans. You can instead search for or select a location manually. We do not use background location tracking.
Travel content and activity
- Selected destinations, map pins, dates, budget, interests, language, and planning preferences.
- Generated itineraries, saved places, favorites, and plan history.
- Feature interactions needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
Purchases and subscriptions
We receive product identifiers, transaction identifiers, subscription status, entitlement status, purchase environment, and related records from Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
Device, app, and notification information
- Installation identifier, platform, device model, app version, language, country, time zone, and operating system information.
- If you enable notifications, a push notification token and your notification preference. We use these to send service notifications, such as letting you know that a requested plan is ready or failed.
Diagnostics and security information
We collect crash reports, error details, request status, security signals, and limited technical logs. Our crash reporting configuration is designed not to send default personally identifiable information, screenshots, view hierarchies, session replays, or request bodies.
2. How we use information
- Provide account access and restore your data across supported devices.
- Generate, display, save, and update travel and local discovery plans.
- Show maps, nearby places, route information, weather, and place details.
- Process credits, purchases, subscriptions, and restore entitlements.
- Send optional service notifications you have enabled.
- Detect fraud, automated use, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- Diagnose failures, maintain security, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and platform obligations.
3. Services that process information for us
We use service providers only as needed to operate TripFinder. Depending on the feature you use, information may be processed by:
- Apple and Google for sign-in, app distribution, payments, and platform services.
- RevenueCat for purchase and subscription entitlement management.
- Google Maps Platform and related place services for maps, geocoding, place information, and photos.
- OpenAI for itinerary generation based on the destination and preferences you submit.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for optional push notifications.
- Sentry for crash and error reporting.
- Render and MongoDB infrastructure for application hosting and data storage.
- Routing, weather, and geocoding providers where needed to generate a plan.
These providers may process data in countries other than your own and operate under their own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party behavioral advertising.
4. Permissions and your choices
- Location: You can deny or revoke location permission in device settings and continue by choosing a location manually.
- Notifications: You can decline notifications or disable them later in TripFinder or device settings.
- Sign-in: You may manage Apple or Google authorization from the applicable account settings. Revoking provider access does not itself delete data already stored by TripFinder.
5. Retention and deletion
Account information, saved plans, preferences, and entitlement records are retained while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When a verified account deletion request is completed, we delete or de-identify associated personal data unless retention is required for legal, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. Purchase and transaction records may be retained for the period required by applicable law and app store rules. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.
To delete your account, open Profile > Account > Delete account in TripFinder and complete the confirmation flow. See our account deletion page for details.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures, including encrypted network transport, access controls, token hashing, and restricted service credentials. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
7. Children
TripFinder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal data, and to withdraw consent. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as TripFinder or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
